What would Jack Do?

When Jack was trying to get on the bus for the first time in Speed, and the driver would not let him, he should have just taken out his gun and shoot the tires. Thinking on your feet is not as simple as it looks when you do not have a script.

Relaxation Music

Found some good relaxation music here, Paul Collier, looks like a talented guy, not commercial yet, which is even better :)

While googling him, I found an economist Paul Collier, who has a Ted talk on how to help poor nations, should be interesting as well, will report on this later

Searching private posts in wordpress

It seems like WordPress have fixed the issue in the latest version because it is now possible to search the private posts but only if you are the same user that created those posts. I was logged in as admin but created posts under the mistralz user name and this is why I had no results in my searches. After I have logged in as mistralz, all results appeared in the search. On to the next issue :)

WordPress for Personal Knowledge Management

One of the reasons I have established this blog is to use it as my Personal Knowledge Management system. Basically what I need is an ability to write something, attach some tags and a time stamp and store for future refence. Naturally I need the ability to find what I have written much later both contextually and using tag cloud. I also need a way to make certain entries private, so they are only accessible by myself and possibly selected few other contributors.

I was thinking that WordPress could be just such a platform and turns out I am not alone in this belief. However, there is a big problem with the privacy issues coming from two domains: there are rumors that private posts appear in search engine results and that private posts do not appear in the internal WordPress searches and tag clouds.

The first issue is simply scary, and this is why one should never ever posts any truly private stuff - internet has no secrets. The second one, however, sounds like something that could be hacked through, which I will try to find out.

Private Posts Policy

This blog will have many private posts. The reason for that is that besides usual blabbering this blog will also host my research and other private thoughts matters and materials. It has occured to me that a blog is a good format for storing everything I have in mind and want to write down. It has the date, and the tags and the search. It's a good platform, in fact might be the best platform these days. But I have already wrote about this here.
